| How
Many Pictures Can I Fit on a Flash Card? |
|
We buy 35mm films
based on the number of exposures it will allow us
to take. Memory cards are different as you have
some control over how many pictures can be taken
this on the card. The factors that effect this are
as follows:
- Resolution The higher the resolution,
the bigger the image file will be.
- Compression Your camera may give the
option of choosing a compresed format. JPEG
is the most common but some more expensive digital
cameras off other formats such as TIFF or taking
uncompressed photos.
- Colours RGB photos (format for viewing
on a monitor) are three times as big as black
and white photos, and CMYK photos (format for
printing) are four times as large as black and
white images.
Taking the above factors into account we have provided
a few tables which estimate how many images you
will get on a memory card.
