Digital Imaging Software

PC software to connect your camera

The basic software that comes with your digital camera will generally let you upload images from the digital camera to your computer. This is usually proprietary software so you can't download to just anyone's computer.

Depending on the program, you can view thumbnail pictures first and then decide which pictures you want to download in their entirety. Also find out if you can download your pictures en masse or if they have to be transferred one at a time.

Digital Imaging software

Better software bundles also include basic image-editing software. The programs you get are often limited versions or "lite" versions of more profession image editing programs.

Good examples of this are Adobe PhotoDeluxe or Adobe Photoshop Elements. These are cut down versions of software which costs hundreds of pounds. Unless you are really planning to do a lot of image manipulation then these versions will probably be OK.

Album Software

Some bundles will include a photo album software, Photoshop Elements also has the ability to create a web based album with thumbnails etc. You can even watermark your work to ensure that nobody else can use it. You can also download free album creation software such as Jablum which is very good [download - 13.5mb]
